I proposed to my girlfriend of 3 years at the Ringling Estate in Sarasota, Florida. The engagement object was not your usual ring, but a Cartier Panthere watch with a full diamond bezel. Low key, high end, and only people who know will know. I’ve always been about understated wealth. A gigantic lab grown diamond is so gaudy and a gigantic natural diamond is just plain wasteful. Eventually I’ll still get her a wedding band but I think the watch was just a good move.

She is an amazing person, helped me increase my net worth by 3x and taught me about investing. She has provided more value than any other person I’ve dated. She is simply on a different level. At the same time, I have never felt more at ease and natural around her, whereas with other women I’ve had to put up pretenses, act cool or dread having to come along with how much they wanted to go out and socialize with others every weekend, made to feel less then because I didn’t want to drink. With past girlfriends, I would have so much stress about going out and always having people around us or doing activities that I did not want to do. With M, we are truly at peace and joy just being around each other, doing things together that align or just doing things alone. I believe our personalities are very similar but also different when it matters. That is the key to a long lasting relationship.
